Is the Pro V1x for slower swing speeds?
Updated October 2026
Yes, if you want what it does.
Titleist’s own fitting manager answered an 85 mph golfer this way: Pro V1 and Pro V1x “are designed to work for all golfers at all speeds.” The company’s fitting guidance is that, compared with Pro V1, Pro V1x flies higher, spins more through the bag, and feels firmer. In our catalog it gauges 102 compression against the Pro V1’s 92.
The old warning that you cannot compress it does not hold up. MyGolfSpy’s 2026 robot test found no swing speed where a softer ball produced more driver ball speed than the Pro V1 control.
So a slower swinger who wants more height and more wedge spin can play Pro V1x. One who wants softer feel or a lower flight is better served by Pro V1 or a softer urethane ball.
