What is the compression of a Wilson 50 Elite golf ball?

Updated October 2026

The 50 is the compression rating. Authorized dealers such as Golfballs.com list it at 50, and Wilson’s own catalog sells it on low-compression distance and soft feel without printing a number.

That puts it in the same soft bracket as Callaway Supersoft (49 in our catalog) and TaylorMade SpeedSoft (50). It is a two-piece ball with an ionomer cover, built for soft feel and low driver spin at a budget price rather than for wedge spin.

One caveat: that 50 is Wilson’s stated rating. Independent gauges often read a few points away from a maker’s number, and we have not found a published lab measurement for this ball. Treat it as “about 50” rather than exactly 50.

If you want a ball this soft with a urethane cover for more greenside grip, our low-compression guide lists the options.
